This was a practical measure meant to prevent fruit flies from hovering over the sweet sherry. But soon, enterprising bartenders were putting small snacks on the bread, and the lowly tapa (from tapa derived the verb tapar, to cover) became as important the sherry.

some most valuable lessons are big-picture concepts that chefs often try to instill in their protégés. r ecipes; but these are more than mere sets of instructions; they are "guides and suggestions for a process that is infinitely nuanced:. hearing food as it cooks is as important as watching, smelling, and tasting it. and while home cooks may not think to apply the word finesse to their everyday cooking, one should note that the "small extra efforts or movements that result in excellence or refinement" are what all cooks should aim for.

The Iron Goat Restaurant & Pub Canadian Cuisine with a Mountain View
Introducing the Rockies' newest Destination Pub & Grill. Our name is inspired by Canmore's rich Railway Heritage. One memorable train engine, built in 1905 for the C.P.R. was sold to Canmore Mines Ltd. in 1943 and hauled coal until it was finally retired to Calgary's Heritage Park in 1963. It was affectionately called "The Iron Goat".
Our standalone, purpose-built restaurant/pub features the finest amenities and the views are spectacular. Join friends for a drink and a meal at The Iron Goat in Canmore. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
