Canmore is located in the the heart of the Canadian Rockies, approximately 65 miles (105 Kilometres) from Calgary and 16 miles (25 Kilometres) from Banff town center. Situated in the beautiful Bow Valley and surrounded by stunning mountain vistas, Canmore is a truly year round destination both for visitors and local residents alike. Once a mining town Canmore is now a bustling town with 12,000 residents, which can swell to nearly 30,000 in busy seasons.
Guests often ask, ”When is the best time to visit Canmore?” The honest answer is dependent on the type of activities you wish to take part in. There are great trails running around the town which are accessible in all seasons. We have three magnificent golf courses just a short car journey from the down town core. Depending on the weather these open from May unit early October. Imagine teeing off while taking in the natural geography of the area. Skiers are also well catered for with four hills, plus Canmore’s cross county ski center, all within a reasonable drive.
Although there are numerous activities in and around Canmore there is still plenty to do for the romantic or relaxing getaway maybe you are looking for a wedding venue? Although the lifestyle in Canmore is a very healthy one, there are some great relaxing pastimes within the town. Canmore boasts one of the worlds biggest shops devoted to quilting. If you are looking for some great food Canmore doesn’t lack in that department either. In nearby Canmore Nordic Center Provincial Park, the Grassi Lakes Trail weaves past a waterfall to 2 turquoise blue lakes. The park also features cross country ski and mountain bike trails. East, Grotto Canyon’s steep limestone walls flank a narrow creek bed leading to the cave.

The hiking trails start just across the road from your vacation rental. You have access to some stunning countryside starting on your doorstep. If you want a quick walk around the town stopping of for a coffee or to strike out into the wilderness, it’s on your doorstep.

Canmore boasts some of the most stunning views in the world and you are right in the middle of it. located in the Bow Valley and only 20 minutes for Banff Nation Park gates. Canmore has a small town feel with big town facilities. Three golf courses within a short drive and starting around the 10th of November each year, 3 great ski hills, plus Canmore’s Olympic cross country ski facility, the Nordic Center. It’s not all snow. The temperture can range from -30c to +30 during the course of the year and there is nothing like a walk beside the Bow River at any temperture.
